Bunny: The Hellbat really needs to be nerfed

image

escene.de: Hey Patrick, thanks for taking the time. Your qualification for the World Championship Series was one of the big surprises from the qualifiers. What went through your head, when you realized what you just did?
Patrick ‚Bunny‘ Brix: I was obviously really happy with how I performed. And it was around 1 a.m. in Denmark so I was just relieved I didn’t have to play more games. I was really tired after that long qualifier.
You’re in Group A together with ForGG, SaSe and sLivko. What do you think about your chances of advancing?
I think I have a decent chance. ForGG will be extremely hard to beat, so if I advance it will probably be In second place.

»I feel bad for up and coming American players«

After getting into WCS Europe, what are your goals for the year 2013?
I want to be recognized as a good player in the international scene, not just in Denmark. I’ve trained for a long time now, and I do really well in practice, so I think it’s a realistic goal.
What do you think about the WCS in general? Many people weren’t so happy because of the possibility for Koreans to participate in Europe and North-America.
Well for the European WCS it isn’t that bad. We only have a few Koreans and they have an outrageous ping to Europe, so we should be able to compete with them. I think WCS America had too many Koreans, and I feel bad for up and coming American players.
Denmark seems to have a fairly small amount of progamers in StarCraft 2. BabyKnight is one of the few players that established himself in the progaming scene. Do you see any reason why there are so few players from Denmark?
Well to actually earn decent money off of StarCraft 2 you have to put in a huge amount of time and effort. Also it’s really hard to sustain yourself off progaming in Denmark because everything is so expensive, you also get paid for going to school. I do think that we have some talented players in Denmark. Hopefully their time to shine will come soon.
We didn’t see you in many tournaments outside of Denmark so far. Are you planning on participating in more events like DreamHack etc.?
I want to participate in as many big tournaments as possible, I believe my skill is at a level where I can show good results.
How did you get into gaming and was there any game you played on a competitive level before StarCraft 2?
I’ve been playing video games for as long as I can remember. But my first competetive game was StarCraft 2, and I didn’t even play for the first year after release. I guess I did play some PvP in World of Warcraft on a high level, but that was only for entertainment.
Are you playing fulltime, or what do you do besides StarCraft 2?
Right now I’m playing fulltime and practicing a ton. At the moment I don’t really have any hobby besides StarCraft. When I’m not playing StarCraft, I usually talk with friends or play other games with them.
What do you think about the current state of the game? How happy are you with the new units and upgrades?
I think HotS is a lot more fun than WoL. I love the new medivacs and reapers, and that you can play tankless vs Zerg. I do think that Terran is a bit better than the other races atm. And the Hellbat really needs to be nerfed. Or at least the Hellbat in combination with the Medivac.
If you could change anything in the game, what would it be?
Make Hellbats unable to load into Medivacs. Then TvT would be much more fun
Thank you so much for the interview Patrick. The last words are yours!
I’m grateful for a lot of the positive things people have been writing about me, I’ll make sure you see more of me in the future. I’m really nervous about my matches in group a, so I hope I can overcome that and perform as I do in practice. Follow me on Twitter & Facebook
