Die Electronic Sports League gab gestern bekannt, eine neue Zweigstelle in Singapur zu eröffnen und damit den ersten Schritt für eine Expansion nach Südostasien zu machen. In der Ankündigung heißt es außerdem, dass die ESL sich nach dem großen Erfolg der letzten beiden ESL One Events in Manila und Genting jetzt bereits auf mindestens zwei weitere Events für das Jahr 2018 vorbereite. Während keine genaueren Details zu möglichen anderen eSport-Titeln genannt werden, bleiben die Möglichkeiten für anderweitige Events aktuell offen.
In seinem Statement zur Gründung der Zweigstelle erklärte der ESL-CEO Ralf Reichert, dass das vorrangige Ziel der ESL Singapur sei, die lokale eSport-Szene durch kleinere, lokale Turniere zu fördern.
