Lee ‚PuMa‘ Ho Joon hat sich 2011 das getraut, was nach ihm
viele Koreaner ebenfalls getan haben. Er
war der erste Koreaner, der den Schritt gewagt hat, in ein nicht koreanisches
Team zu wechseln. Nun hat Evil Geniuses bekannt gegeben, dass man den Vertrag
mit dem Koreaner aufgelöst hat. PuMa ist vor allem durch seine sehr gute
Leistung auf dem Finale der NASL bekannt geworden und hat bei den Turnieren
außerhalb von Korea immer überzeugen können. Doch genau aus diesem Grund hat
sich Evil Geniuses nun von ihm getrennt. Man möchte sich mehr auf die Proleague
konzentrieren und da PuMa bisher eine desolate Leistung in koreanischen Ligen erbrachte, hat man sich geeinigt den Vertrag nicht zu erneuern.

Professional eSports teams are often compared to families, and Evil Geniuses is no exception. In that spirit, our goodbye to Ho Joon Lee (PuMa) is bittersweet. We will acutely feel the absence of his unique character and competitive skill in our ranks, but we are proud to send him on to his next adventure knowing that he was a part of writing the Evil Geniuses story, and hoping that he will take all the best of us along with him as well. It is our goal to solidify pro gaming as a sustainable career choice for future generations, and we are grateful to Ho Joon for his part in working toward that future with us. We wish our boy the best as he hangs up the blue, and hope he will find success in his future endeavors.

I’ve had the privilege of working with Ho Joon for the better part of a year and a half, and I consider him one of my closest friends. His impact on the competitive StarCraft 2 community is undeniable. He is a champion and I think everyone at EG is lucky to have worked with him.
