The Electronic Sports League has announced, that with the beginning of the next season of the German ESL Pro Series, a new system will be used to determine the four teams to participate in the finals in Cologne. The top seven teams of the current season will stay in the EPS together with the winner of the A-Series. Two additional teams will be able to qualifiy for the ESL Pro Series in the relegation. This makes a total of 10 teams for the next season of the ESL Pro Series. Those teams will play in five cups against each other and the top six teams of the A-Series for points and prize money.
The four teams with the most points at the end of the season will travel to Cologne to fight for the EPS champion title. With the new system the ESL hopes to create a more exciting and enjoyable tournament than before. The same system has already been used for the StarCraft 2 EPS in Germany for five seasons up to now.
