Im Rahmen der bereits im März angekündigten „Make it Digital“-Kampagne sollten alle Teile von Grand Theft Auto akribisch beleuchtet werden und die in der Vergangenheit stattgefundenen Auseinandersetzungen zwischen Rockstar Games und dem Computerspiele-Gegner Jack Thompson zeigen. Die Schauspieler Daniel Radcliffe und Bill Paxton waren für die Hauptrollen in dem Drama vorgesehen.
Offenbar bangt Rockstar Games um die Markenrechte und ist von dem 90-minütigen Drama alles andere als begeistert. Bisher blieben Verhandlungen mit BBC erfolglos, sodass man sich nun zu diesem drastischen Schritt gezwungen fühlt und Klage einreichte. Ob sich beide Parteien im Nachgang doch noch einigen können und es zur geplanten Verfilmung der Erfolgsgeschichte kommt, bleibt jetzt erst einmal abzuwarten.
