Interview with PrOxyQQ from Cognitive Gaming EU – Smite Interview

Text?

escene.de: Hello prOxyQQ! Thank you very much for spending your time to answer our questions! Right at the
start in the name of Escene.de and SMITE Germany: Congratulations for winning
against SK Gaming on the Gamescom Invitationals! Was the victory against SK
Gaming on the Gamescom 2013 a big surprise for you and your team COGnitive Gaming EU? And have you celebrated it like you deserved it?

Before the tournament none of the teams
knew which one was the strongest right now, because on the last tournaments a lot of DC´s (DDOS) determined the winners. That made it
really hard for us to guess how strong SK-Gaming, Bipolar Method and Vengeance
truly were. So it was really surprising for us that we could accomplish
ourselves, and we celebrated it really good, of course.

You´ve used your timeouts very often – can you reveal us how such a fast team
meeting looks like? Who gives the orders?

Timeouts were only used for pc problems,
so we didn’t really talked about a tactic. We analyzed much between the games and made
some good tactical refinements. Usually Sprayarn and me gave the orders, but,
of yourse, every opinion counts in a team.

Although you had some bad stats with 10
kills behind them and 10k gold difference, but you awesome countered it,
although in most cases, every „casual-player“ would try surrendering about 10 times – Did you know
that you could turn the game, or where did you get the will and the power to
make a genious comeback with absolutely nothing?

Yes, SK-Gaming dominated us in the
early game in the first 2 sessions. Although it´s nothing new, SK-Gaming is one
of the teams who bet everything on the early game, so we knew that we would
have better chances if we stand our ground to the late game, because we are one of the best teams when
it’s about teamfights! Our team combinations were always well chosen for the end
game. So we knew, if we make it to the end game, that there is a chance to win
this.

Can you tell us a short story how you’ve teamed up with your actual teammates?
Right at the beginning, I´ve found a
team called My Revenge and Sprayarn was a tryout, so we knew us from
beginning of the beta and played till now casual and ranked games. Trixtank, Qvofred,
Mugawa and myself got to know each other while playing ranked games, and so
we started to play more casuals together, so that everyone of them knew, that
i am a skilled player.   I was at eleMON, when we heard, that Trixtank and
Qvofred can’t play at the Gamescom, so they tried Envjun but unfortunatelly it
didnt worked as they wished. That’s the reason why COGnitive came and asked me,
if I´m interested to play at the Gamescom.

How much do you train per day / week?
We try to play at least 3 hours together
per day, but it’s not always that possible, because many teams have way too much
respect for the top teams and don’t want to scrimm. Casual Games often end with
a surrender at 10. We just hope that more teams found up with time
and want to scrimm with top teams. Thats the only way to get better.

The statistics clearly are on your side: You have made the most 1st-places in the
EU weeklys – are there still „real“ enemys for you?

The Statistics say that we are the top team at the moment, but there are so many teams out there who play at our
skill, so you can´t say which team will win every time. I think that is the reason why EU tournament scene
is more thrilling now than the NA.

Which god should drastically be changed in your opinion, to get it more attractive
to competetive gaming ?

I think that Tyr is actually very strong
and should loose some basic damage, because he´s way too strong.

Do you have a favorite player and paragon in the SMITE scene?
Definitely Lassiz. Really nice personality and a world class player!

What do you think of how they can publish SMITE even more in Germany to make it
more popular?

The first step was definitely Gamescom. I hope they just official release
SMITE and that the rush for the game will rise.

What for games do you like to play, when the SMITE servers are currently down?
That´s very different, i prefer small
games like OSU, Isaac and sometimes CS:GO.

Do you have an alternative if the gaming won´t go well? (Education, Studying)
Yes, I´ve just finished my further
education to an engineer and unfortunatelly i can´t live from SMITE and the
streams for now, so i work of course. smiley

What makes SMITE your most favorite MOBA?
That every attack is a skillshot.

Have you played competitive games before?
Yes, I´ve played 4 years CS:S and 1 year
in the EPS for EVOPLAY.

Fanquestions:
How have you made it so fast to get a god mastery level of 40?

Well, i really enjoy to play SMITE very often, that´s the reason why .
smiley

How do you find out about SMITE and what was your funniest moment?
On twitch.tv I´ve randomly watched
Lassiz and i directy liked the gameplay from beginning, that was the reason why
i tried to get a BETA-Key and play it by myself. The funniest moment was definitely at a tournament with eLEMON, when youngbae in my team forgot to
purchase items, and after 5 minutes DMBrandon wrote to him if he was trying a new item bild.lol

Don’t all those streams and tournaments set you under high pressure, because
you have to give your best all the time?

I think this is the most case for all
players, however im not so nervous anymore because of my own streams and from
the EPS earlier ago and different LAN-Tournaments. It´s the opposite, I´m
loving it when the Fans encourage me and i thank them for thislove .

At the end i want to thank for the concern on my  person and i want to thank all SMITE players and the fans of
our team. If someone has some questions he can ask me personal and can contact
me on Facebook or Twitter. And i would also like if you would visit me on my
stream.
