Wenn es beim Fußball nicht rund läuft ist es meistens der Kopf des Trainers, der als erstes rollt. Dieses Phänomen scheint man nun auch bei den Ninjas in Pyjamas zu verfolgen. Bei der ESL One Cologne konnte das Team den eigenen Ansprüchen nicht gerecht werden und beendete das Turnier auf den Plätzen 5.-8. Zu wenig für das schwedische Team. Als Konsequenz trennt man sich nun mit sofortiger Wirkung von Coach Joona ’natu‘ Leppänen.
Doch auch weitere Änderungen seien nicht ausgeschlossen im Hause NiP. Zwar haben alle Spieler noch Verträge bis zum Ende des Jahres, aber dies schließe mögliche Veränderungen nicht aus.
Statement Ninjas in Pyjamas:
All five of them have contracts that end on the same date, the 31st of December 2015, and are to be renegotiated starting 1st of October. There is nothing that would hinder us starting these renegotiations earlier but the contracts are valid until said date. We and our co-owners Diglife see player contracts as the foundation on which we build much of the investments and the future so therefore it’s important they only change if ALL parties are in agreement. This means change is not impossible, but unlikely before the end of this year. One change relating to the CS:GO team has already occurred and that is that we have parted ways with Joona „natu” Leppänen as coach. No shadow falls on Joona because of this and he has not disappointed us in any way. Joona has a lot of casting jobs around the world that we will enjoy watching in the future and we value his deep knowledge and skills in the game we all love, CS:GO.
