Die Ninjas in Pyjamas haben heute einen erneuten Rückzug aus der Dota 2-Szene bekanntgegeben und gleichzeitig das bestehende Lineup mit sofortiger Wirkung entlassen. Gründe für diese Entscheidung sind laut NiP die eher schlechte Performance des Teams und die Entscheidung, den Fokus der Organisation auf die Stärkung der bestehenden Lineups in CounterStrike, League of Legends und Overwatch zu legen. Ein späterer Neueinstieg in die Dota-Szene wurde allerdings nicht ausgeschlossen.
Auszug aus dem Announcement zur Trennung vom Team
As time passed the lineup saw two roster changes which led to a decline in performance. The recent results have unfortunately been below our high expectations, which have led to a full evaluation of the DotA 2 team. Last week we announced our entry to Legends EU LCS, bringing the world’s most popular MOBA back to Ninjas in Pyjamas. The combanation of weak performance in DotA2 and our newly established League of Legends division has led us to the following decision: We are releasing our DotA2 team with immediate effect. It’s time for us to fully focus our resources on bringing the CS:GO team back to glory, while establishing ourselves within the League of Legends scene with a long term presence in a more stable environment.
