Riot verhängt Strafe gegenüber Doublelift und CLG

Es ist nicht das erste Mal in dieser Season dass Counter Logic Gaming eine Strafe wegen Abwerbens eines Spielers zahlen muss. Diesmal geht es aber nicht um den jetzigen Coach ‚Scarra‚, sondern um Toplaner Darshan ‚ZionSpartan‚ Upadhyaya, welcher dem Team am 7. November illegal beigetreten ist, da er noch einen Vertrag mit seinem ehemaligen Team ‚Dignitas‚ hatte.

Auffällig ist, dass beide abgeworbene Spieler von der gleichen Organisation stammen. Dies scheint zurzeit der Trend zu sein, da wir so etwas auch schon bei den Gerüchten um Fnatic und H2K hörten.Diesmal muss jedoch nicht nur die Organisation an sich dafür bezahlen. Auch AD Carry Yiliang ‚DoubleLift‚ Peng hat eine Geldstrafe zu begleichen, da er laut Riot Games, ZionSpartan das Angebot unterbreitet habe. Die Geldstrafen belaufen sich auf $2,000 bei CLG und auf $2,500 bei DoubleLift. Außerdem wird das Team die erste Woche der LCS ohne Upadhyaya spielen müssen.

CLG äußerte sich zu dieser Strafe nun folgendermaßen:

The current ruling by Riot Games regarding the acquisition of
Zionspartan is fully justified. We want to make sure to promote a
competitive eSports environment with integrity that all parties can
thrive in. For this reason, when there was an indication of wrongdoing
on the part of one of our players, we the management took all steps
necessary to seek out and report any information in the interest of
resolving this issue. While it’s understandable that a player could be
frustrated and upset by having to be in such a tough position,
particularly given the status of the team at the end of PAX this past
year, it is entirely unacceptable that they circumvented their team’s
management and especially infringed upon LCS rules to gain an advantage.
Regardless of intentions, all parties involved have been negatively
affected by this violation. The rules were known and they were broken.
It should be made extremely clear to everyone who participates in League
of Legends ESports that even the most seemingly casual of conversations
or interactions can result in significant, and unforeseen,
consequences. In summation: This behavior ultimately inhibits everyone’s
ability to carry out their responsibilities. Players, managers, owners
and LCS officials must all deal with these unforeseen consequences, and
fans are deprived of seeing their favorite players and teams at full
strength. 

 

We at CLG would like to apologize to Team Dignitas, Michael „Odee”
O’Dell, Riot Games and all our fans for this unfortunate lapse in
judgment. Moving forward we aim to put in place more strict internal
controls to ensure the integrity of our teams and its players. We look
forward to continuing to promote a healthy and constructive LCS
environment in the future.

Eine ähnliche Strafe gab es bereits beim Abwerben vom jetzigen Coach William ‚Scarra‚ Li, jedoch fiel die Strafe dort deutlich höher aus. Counter Logic Gaming hatte $10,000 zu bezahlen und muss drei Wochen ohne Li auskommen. Aufgrund von Kooperationen in dem letzten Fall, kam Riot CLG mit der Geldstrafe nun etwas entgegen. Ob es das allerdings wert war, wird man in der Zukunft sehen.
