Die Organisationsleitung von Selfless Gaming hat in den vergangenen Tagen offiziell bestätigt, dass sowohl das Management als auch die Spieler die Organisation verlassen werden. Im Statement zur Auflösung heißt es, die bestehenden Teams hätten zu einem Großteil bereits neue Organisationen. Im gleichen Atemzug bietet Steve ‚Ryu‘ Rattacasa, Besitzer von Selfless, Investoren die Möglichkeit, den Namen „Selfless“ zu kaufen und die Organisation damit unter anderer Leitung weiterzuführen.
Im Statement zur Auflösung erklärt Ryu weiterhin, dass nicht alle Spieler und Teams der Organisation ein neues Zuhause gefunden hätten. Ein großes Beispiel hierfür ist das Overwatch-Team, das in Zukunft wohl nicht weiterhin zusammen spielen wird. Es heißt, es wäre nicht möglich gewesen, eine Organisation zu finden, die bereit war, das Team zu kaufen.

Today, we are announcing that the Selfless ownership team (myself and Brad) will be stepping away from the Selfless organization to pursue opportunities that have arisen in the past few months. […] While considering this decision, we have been working hard behind the scenes to find trustworthy organizations for our remaining teams and players where possible, and have the following updates on that front: […] Finally, onto the Overwatch team – since the launch of Overwatch we have fielded a team, and that team has become a prime example of what can be achieved through intentional, purposeful, hard work. […] Unfortunately, with many other organizations releasing their rosters, and given talks we’ve had with those in the space, we were not able to sell our team as a whole to any other organizations.
